Alena’s training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and evidence-based stress reduction techniques for relaxation and mindful awareness. Her integrative therapeutic approach is creative, honest, and empowering.

My Role as Your Therapist

I am here to help you tap into your true talents and desires for a full, healthy life. Often this translates into my listening carefully to what you say, as well as listening for what you don’t say. I will enthusiastically support your growth. As part of that process, you will also find me challenging some of your beliefs as we examine negative thought patterns and self-talk.

Together we will explore your goals, and how your unconscious behaviors affect your satisfaction in life. The bottom line is nobody knows your needs better than you do. My job is to help you rediscover those needs, validate them, and come up with ways to realize them.

Alena provides ongoing individual and group psychotherapy services at NYU Langone Medical Center/Hospital for Joint Diseases, and in private practice with offices in Manhattan on the Upper West Side and Inwood.
